The Center for Community College Student Engagement, in cooperation with the Community College Leadership Program's initiative in conjunction with Achieving the Dream, will host the 2012 Entering Student Success Institute April 1 -3, 2012, in Santa Fe, NM.

Colleges that participate in the Survey of Entering Student Engagement (SENSE) have the special opportunity to send teams (composed of three to five individuals) to the fifth Entering Student Success Institute (ESSI). During the two and a half days, each team will work with data, learn about strategies that can help improve the entering student experience, and formulate an action plan for initiating appropriate strategies.

We recommend that each team be composed of individuals from the following areas:

• President
• Chief Academic Officer*
• Chief Student Services Officer*
• Faculty Leader
• Developmental Education Faculty Leader
• First Year Experience/Entering Student Experience Leader
• Director of Institutional Research
• Achieving the Dream Core Team or Data Team Leader, if applicable

*If it is necessary to choose between the Chief Academic Officer and the Chief Student Services Officer, we strongly encourage sending the CAO because it is essential that work with entering students is integrated across the institution.

At the time of registration, one person from each college team must be designated as the Team Facilitator.

This person will serve as the primary contact person for the Institute and will be responsible for organizing his or her team's completion of pre-institute work, including a basic college data review, entering student inventory, and short-term action plan. (These assignments are sent to the Team Facilitators a few months before the Institute.)

Team Price

The $7,000 team price (for 3 to 5** people) includes:

• Entering Student Success Institute registration fees
• 2 nights (April 1 and April 2) in individual rooms at the Eldorado for each participant  (reservations made via rooming list based on registration; please send e-mail to info@cccse.org if you are interested in staying additional nights)
• 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, & 1 reception for each participant
• Data Facilitators to answer SENSE questions
• Expert assistance from ESSI Resident Faculty
• Strategy and action-planning sessions

**A sixth team member can attend for an additional $1,200 (register as usual)

Note: Invoices are sent to college presidents. Full registration payment is due by the date stated on the invoice.

Cancellation Policy
Because ESSI is an invitation-only event, with a stringent limit on the number of participating colleges that can be accommodated, the following payment and cancellation policy has been established.

Cancellation notice in writing, received at the Center:
Before October 31: 80% refund, or 20% due
November 1 - 30: 75% refund, or 25% due
December 1 - January 15: 50% refund, or 50% due
After January 15: no refund available, or full payment due
